ok update ,im still broke ,but i have been pricing up stuff for the a15 ,im keen to get the ball rolling with it when my ute is sorted

so far ive got on my list of WANTS and i think i need all of them ,at the moment i want to most power i can possibly get with out boost (yethehe)

so i figure if i build a realy good bottom end and have a head that will give me a good amount of comp ,then if i want to go turbo later i can just put a non shaved head ona dn not have to worry about the bottom end needing any work !

so here gos

tomei light weight push rods =$115
rocker shaft collars =$80
LARGE EX valves 32.0mm =$199
LARGE IN valves 38.0mm =$199
Racing adjustable timing chain tensioner =$126
metal head gasket 0.8mm =$226
heavy duty timing chain =$138
adjustable timing gear =$235
heavy duty rocker shaft =$117

then there is still pistons and bearings and rings ,oh and machine work !

i was told forged ross pistons are $1100 with rings ,but ill have to check with ernie
as for bore size ,how big can i go before it will get hot ? i want the most cubes i can get SAFELY

any ideas?
and what of the above do i actualy need?
its all nice stuff but no point buying it if its not needed

and who streetable would an a15 be with heaps of comp ,twins and a cam

the cam doesnt worry me ,i can put up with it jerking around ,but will it be reliable in the long run ?

thanks

Dude learn from others mistakes.... If u want reliable go for a fuel injection setup already! Haha carbies are old skewl! a15 with fuel injection is reliable. Will start more often than a a15 with twins ;)

Levey your motor is off tap! That thing was psycho in that wags. Jesse if your going for reliability a12-15 that's had a freshen up would be the best for reliability

Why not stick with what you got for now, tidy up the panel work and interior etc.

Get the coupe up and running and see how that goes, then focus on the ute. You might realise how good the CA setup is and swap it into the ute.

If you want to go A series why not look at adapting EFI from a Hyundai Excell or something else with a simple fuel injection setup.

how can people say twins are no good??? Nige has a set on his 15, Ben has a set on his 15, as have countless others, Alfa had twins standard, Fiat had them, Toyota had them,

once set up.. trouble free motoring..

EFI costs the same if not more to buy, and still needs tuning....

yea its just what everyone tells me is twins are high maintainance and wont be any good for a daily drive but i think they might just be jealous ! haha they look and sound mighty fine !

i just want them sorted ,then i can actauly go to cruizes and stuff and not have to worry about breaking down due to the carbs playing up ,and i want them to run smooth ! i hate studdering ,and popping !!!!

ok the ute is now tuned !!!

i payed tim today and i was expecting a bill of around $500-$1000 but i was plesently suprised when he charged me $200 including brand new jets ,reprofiled idle screws and a sick sticker !!!

so im realy realy happy ,the bill is paid and i have to pick it up tomorrow ,so i ge to give it a right thrashing through the industrial area hahahaha

it doesnt pop anymore and it starts like a dream ! ,only thing is it doesnt do much till about 3000rpm and you feel the cam kick it up the ass ,goes good now and ive got some stocky inch rims im going to paint black and put my pimpin 165/60/13s on haha then i don thave to worry bout hurting my jellies or my good tyres !

im almost ready to take it to any up coming cruises ,i need to change the rad cap or put a overflow bottle on as its a recovery cap and it will just pump itself dry unless it has a tank on the side

ok next thing i NEED to gtet done is panel work ! i need new sills put on and then i need tem painted ! ,whos keen to tackle it with me ??? ill cut them off soon and get a set made ,then ill need someone with the skills to weld them on and not warp the quarter or the inner door seal area

anyone think they got the skills ? any time haha ill pay too !
