I tracked down a set of top and bottom ball joints (lets not start another thread about that). I got the rest of my stuff from peddars, bigger gas shocks for the rear and bigger front shocks but only oily's. I got nolathane rear shackel bushes and can comfirm they are the same as 1200.

The rest of my rubbers seem to be ok, I could do with a set of tie rod ends but don't have the cash atm. I have no issues with handling. I was actully a little impressed with leaf spring front end. Struts are over-rated.

Numbers are Nolothane numbers... buy them where you get the best deals

And as for the front "bumpstop" rubber
Nissan only if they still have stocks... which I doubt
When I bought mine back in 2006 they said once supply was gone... they were gone

Again I'm wondering how much trouble some of this stuff would be to make from scratch...No problem with simple bushes if you had a lathe, but wether Urethane a similar composite could be cast into threads, metal parts ect, does anyone know about these processes?
I understnd the old rubbers need incredible pressure and complex process to make, but maybe theres new suff that does the same job in two parts.

Wishful thinking, I know.

I was thinking perhaps they could be sourced and modded from some other car that had transverse leaf suspension, but the ones ive looked at have a completely different setup :(

Someone tell me to stop thinking (its ok im used to it) ;)

Mako
Mike posted the bush list

His list includes the front uppers
But not the metal sleeved lowers... he says he's never replaced them before

I did on my wagon.... cause I could
I used all genuine Nissan bushes when I did it

Has anyone actually ordered these in the past couple years or so since the whiteline take over? Looks like they might be history. If you have let me know I am after some myself. Thanks

Hi guys!! Great to see people restoring the 1000's. I love 'em.

I haven't been on this forum in years, but here's a link to a photo of my front suspension bits:
http://datsun1200.com/modules/myalbum/photo.php?lid=12691

If my memory is correct I used:
- 1200 lower control arm bushes for the 1000's upper control arm bushes
- Ford transit van rear leaf shackle bushes for the lower control arm bushes and I sanded the flanges down a bit on a rotary sander, but any old sander will do. I also asked Red Ranger for a larger crush tube and shortened it to fit inside the cross member and drilled the cross member to take 12mm bolts.
- I bought new 1200 tie-rod ends because I couldn't get them to suit a 1000. I needed the 1200 tie rod as it's a bit thicker and has different thread.

on the rear end:
- 1200 leaf bushes fit on the front of the 1000's leaf pack
- I don't think I replaced the shackle rubbers as they were in good nick and I wanted the softer rubber here as a little give is needed when the car rolls in corners.

I found the guys at Red Ranger to be extremely helpful. I rang to make an enquiry and the posted me a catalogue for free. I still have it if you want to know anything.

I also changed the height and stiffness of the leaf packs front and rear. Its only slightly lower than standard but around 30% stiffer. I love it this way.

EDIT: Oh yeah, I'm talking about my road car, not my race car pictured there <-
