ok today i started on cleaning up the engine bay again ,but i need a new wire wheel ,atm ive just rubbed it back abit and i started scraping the old paint off the fire wall and getting ready to bog the recessed patch i put in to make room for the head and water lines

i think my motor sits about 10-20mm closer to the firewall than the maddat kits

which is good cos it means the weight is more centralised ,but also means less room in the tunnel at the back where it becomes narrow ,but there shoudlnt be a problem there seeing as brett worked his magic and made a heap more room in there when him and nigel put the new tunnel piece in

anyone got a gaurd rolling tool they would lend for a day ? ill pay for the time and use of it (wear and tear of the roller)

ive tryed the old jack trick but its uneven and inaccurate ,plus it means i need to put heaps of bog in to get the little kinks out that are left from the lifing platform on the jack!

still thinking about hand brake setup ,but atm im thinking of leaving it alone till i take it around collie and see if i need one first ,clutch kick might be easyer ??

looks good.. wheels that wide on the rear, make some steel flares and blend them in.
would look better

yea come to think of it ,your right mik ,they would look better than rolled gaurds and i could then chop the original wheel arches out to make room then i can go as far out a s i want with the flares :D

would be easyer than bogging too !

Looks like some pretty neat rust patching has been done on that car! can I have the guys number?
Oh and dont use that orbital sander for bodywork, you will not be happy with the results.

hahah thats the one ive been using ,gimme yours hahaha ,yours is fuken awsome ,i see why it cost the money ,its quik and shapes the bog to exactly the way you want ,instead of just cutting down the same shape !

and nigel you did the rear quarter patches ,they are awsome but it still needed bog ! ,you got the shape pretty close ,considering you had to adapt a rear quarter patch off a sedan and make the other out of flat plate !

anyways got some bad new ,tonight i decided to start sanding back the roof at the front to fix the paint cracks and stuff from when the bonnet flew up

when i started sanding i noticed abit of bog which was expected ,and i kept sanding till i got sore arms haha ,i then decided to probe about with the flap dics on the grinder to find out how juch bog there was ,i then decided to take the bog out with the flap dics to find the roof has had a roller door or something dropped down on it ! and its left a dent runnign the width of the roof at the front ,its fixable but its a pain in the ass ,i was hoping no0t to find anything like this cos it has been smooth sailing lately ,but i supose its better than rust !

plus i was thinking of just bogging over it ,but then it will just come back out !

anyways i need a heap of bog to fill the dent ,and i have the windscreen out so there is heaps of room to get comfy and do it right haha plus the windscreen was crackled and i wanted to check for rust !

so far its rust free around the windscreen !! awesome
