I run the 2nd hand silverline pads that came with my s13 set up. The bloke who sold me the brakes told me they only cost $20. (Which is what I paid for the rotors and calipers) I've NEVER been able to make them fade on the street. (Including some balls to the wall hill driving) But they make the wheels filthy in like 100kms.
I do only have an A series, but it's hard to imagine needing more brakes than what I have.
What are the bendix ultimate like for making dust? I'd like a cleaner pad than the cheapies I have atm.

hmmm im starting to wonder if the bendix i currently have are ultimates...... cant remember!

i like others am struggling to see why you would buy anything but the usual road stuff...

i wonder what temperatures the normal pads are rated for and what temperature the brake fluid is rated for

i also wonder with what pads you will start wearing rotors instead of pads

if you main intention is sprints and hill climbs (datnats is three laps at a time?), you arnt going to get much heat in there so pads that work from 0 degrees would be highest priority

your right.. pads that work from the word go are important, becuase i do drive on the street
and the odd hillclimb.

i tend to disagree about not getting much heat in sprints...
last weekend at calder i was pulling up from roughly 200kph for a 2nd gear corner on the front straight
and then again from about 180kph for another 2nd gear corner on the back straight.

and all in a lap that lasts just over a minute thats a big stop every 30 seconds
not to mention the other corners you brake for...
its pretty easy to cook brakes out there in a few laps.... not that i did

I never got fade with the old motor with the bendix, and I always though the same.. Why get anything better but the new pads are in a different league, you cant describe how god they feel.
It's like saying that S13 brakes would do, and for street im sure they would, but at eastern creek your pulling up from 200k's for a 2nd gear corner, you need everything to work really well, lap after lap!!

Keep in mind my car does no street, Just track.

Id try the qfm's, what caliper are you running Ange?

crazy theories floating around here! things get hot when you race and the first things you'll find will fail are brakes and tyres, i think people are underestimating how hard your car is working on a track. The sprint sessions are standard warm up lap, 3 timed laps and a cool down. so... yes you should really upgrade pads and fluid if doing this sort of stuff.

ds2500 pads are great, i have used them before. bendix ultimate in comparison to others mentioned here really are average, as are ebc green stuff.

for the money id be going for the A1RMs (about $120 odd a set!) i got mine from GSL rally sport in qld. give them a buzz and ask him questions hes very helpful.

people who have tracked their car seem to be pointing you in the right direction... ;)

I also got mine from GSL Rallysport. Greg is an absolute champion and can help you with many car parts, not just brakes.

I can also second the recommendation for DS2500s. My brother has used them for years after being less than satified with what EBC had to offer. They will be the next set I trial.

im running the standard s13 caliper on the 250mm vented disc

and so far the ute is still willing to go deeper under brakes than the driver

i think i'll try the qfm's..... keen to hear mattys experience with them
