Hey guys I'm just about to remove the glass and was wondering how to do it? Does anyone have any advice or tips or things I need to watch out for while I'm doing it? Also how hard are they to put back in with new rubbers. Or should I get a windscreen place to do it?

Cut the front section of the rubber out, lift the screen out and simply remove the rest of the rubber. Can be a bit of a pain if they are sealed tight.

To install, use some soapy water and a long piece of thin rope. Put the seal on the screen, wrap the rial around the seal in the part that seals against the body, spray rubber and body with soapy water. Put screen into place and with someone holding pressure from the outside slowly pullbthe rope from the inside. May take a go or two and you can do it with or without sealant, it's your choice

its fairly easy. Just DONT lever the glass, it will just instantly crack. Cut the rubber away and lift it.

Replacing, as wardy said, use rope inside the rubber seal. When pulled through from the inside it pulls the inside edge of the seal through. I used sealant (black sika style) inside the rubber.

Thanks guys. Just remembered I've got a gregorys service manual and it says the same thing about install but says to flick it out from the inside rather than cut it for removal. The rubbers arnt that bad and I was thinking if I can keep them I'd try that way. Anyone removed the screen without destroying the rubber?

I remove mine by using about 6 wooden clothes pegs (Pulled apart). Insert the tapered end of the peg in behind the rubber (from the inside of the car)and lever rubber away from the frame and slide the peg in behind the frame. I found if you put one about every 2 inches the screen will slowly pop out as you work your way round.
Good Luck
Dave

i use two smallish flat blade screw drivers and just tuck the inner seal under the frame, working from top center out and yeah as sead, it will pop it self out..

i would suggest go to the wreckers and have a crack at a car with the same style seal.
