Find a brake specialist, not a general store, & get a new master cylinder, brake lines, get the calipers reco'ed & ask them to get you some decent pads. It sounds to me as if the 10 yrs sitting around has buggered everything. You don't have to do it all at once, but brakes are something you have to have. You should also try & get some lubricant for the slides of the calipers, if they're dirty the calipers wont slide. When you get/fix the master cylinder, remember to ask for a disc brake master cylinder, as otherwise you'll get a drum brake one & the front brakes will drag even worse. Don't forget the back, either. I got new wheel cylinders & brake shoes for about $60 from a brake place near me in Sydney, maybe part of the increased wear is that the back brakes aren't doing anything. Take your time, ask questions & good luck with the brake wear. If you still have problems, try & find a late 120Y with PBR brakes & discs. The discs & calipers are the same as early Sigma & you should be able to get reasonable pads for this. Plus they bolt in, though I'd change the strut tops to the 1200 ute ones, if you find some of these.

i would first take of the calipers and se if the pistons a freely working or befroe this i would fix the leak and do a full flush with new brake fluid also look for any debris or broken down rubber if there is i would change all the rubber brake lines to as they can degrade and clog up the system!

It was working fine then sat for 10 years, following that it began to fail you.

I reckon you need to give everything a good clean up.
