So I ended up getting a 95 2.8 Diesel Hilux kinda cheap...so cheap I really had to make a spot decision because it wasn't going to last...owner was going overseas and wanted it gone.

So far the only concern with it is it seems to have a fair amount of blowby, which seems strange for a 140,000k engine...enough to give me an oily hand if I hold it over the filler cap at idle.
Now I know that this is not a good thing on the surface, but Ive also read that this is common for the hilux engine...even a relatively fresh one.

This has more blowby than the turbo model I turned down...could it be because a non-turbo is a higher comp head?

So yeah some say its goign to have problems, other say don't worry and it'll still go forever, but there's a general consensus that nothing can be done to fix this short of a rebuild.

Still it runs well, doesn't blow smoke and came with a shipload of extras...so far so good, but I should be majorly concerned about the blowby issue?
