no it wasnt a good car, it was a cheap soarer to start out with, so my brother booked some flights for him and 2 mates to go up and get it and drive it back on and unreg permit

then after flights were booked found out you need an inspection in nsw to get a permit, unlike VIC
so he figured he'd get a vic permit and see if he could make it to the border and then be legal.

so the morning comes to fly out, cant get onto his mates despite calling countless times, flys up anyway

get ups there buys the car, drives for an hour. gets a flat. no spare in the car or jack or anything. calls the guy he bought it off. who arranges a set or rims and tyres he can buy to put on it. 3 hours later he gets on his way again

now being a soarer it has its fog lights on all the time...apparently this is also illegal to do when not foggy in NSW, cop pulls him over for that...while pulled over runs the plates on the car...which were off an unregistered ke30
so $1500 in fines later he is in the middle of no where with no money and no company
calls me who didnt go on the drive as i had an exam the next day

well what do you do. me and mum make the trip at 9pm about 3 hours over the border into NSW to get him and back again

sao the cheap soarer turned out to be an overpriced piece of crap, after the fines. and a month or so later he bought a 1uz and manual conversion for less than he originally payed for the soarer, when all he wanted was the engine anyway

Wow that is such #OOPS# luck, what a shame!

What pisses me of the most is the illegal Fog lights in NSW when theres no fog but like you said Soarers always have them on!

Ok steve I MAY be heading down that way next weekend to pick up my engine. I'm actually going to western Melbourne but Geelong is only an hour or so away. I also have a trailer. Obviously I have to make it worth my while as it's a little out of my way, but if it is I'll be happy to help a fellow member out.
