The truth is it will not sell for what you want.
I don't know what sht you are on Dave but in two years it will still be the same. The Datsun 1000 has dropped in value over the last 5 years, you should know this. If this is an EOI then I suggest you hang onto the thing, wait on it until the prices pick up again. Otherwise wait it out for a few months as an EOI, it really is a neat car. Just trying to get pics up now.

1000 prices are climbing over here.. people are starting to see the value in good ones, and there is far less on the roads, gone are the days of picking a bunky up for $150..

Hi qik 1000,
Sorry for the misunderstanding in my last message. It was not my intention to offend but to just let you know what my experience with 1000's has been. I wish that our favourite little cars where worth a whole lot more than they seem to fetch at the moment, and I will be holding on to mine too. I wish you every success in getting good dollars for your 1000. They are a great car and getting more and more difficult to find. Cheers Mark.

No sorry Mopar - my bad. I hate to say it, but selling her will be a bit of an emotional thing. I just interpreted you comments the wrong way, which was stupid. Yeah, I agree with all the comments. I feel 1000's are very underpriced in the market.
My second car was a 1968 Morris Cooper 'S' Mk2. It was fully restored at great expense using a 1968 mini 'K' shell. Purists at the time snobbed this type of restoration. I sold it in 1999 for $7,500. Three years later the guy who bought if from me sold it (after using it as an everyday car for 3 years) for $12,500. Now my Dad is restoring one for himself. He just paid about that much for a rolling shell and an engine. So in ten years the price of these things more than doubled. I reckon there's a good chance that our Datsun's will do the same thing. Its already getting very hard to find a nice 1000 to start with, particularly the coupes. Thanks for posting the photos Clyons! FYI, I have received two private responses (i won't mentinon names). One sounds reasonably keen but we'll see how we go.

$12500! Awesome. Maybe I should sell my 1200's and buy a 1000. Good luck with the sale. She looks very neat!
