hi been a while because i couldnt log into anything because of dumb virus!

so i have installed a a15 auto choke carb to my a12 engine and i seem to be having some problmes!

i got it to idle good but when you got to drive it will just sputter and die and at idle if held at a certain point starts to sputter.

also i was checking my vacuum advance and i tried sucking and with a air gun thing to suck on the vacuum advance but noting moves is this normal?

will this cause my problem i am having?

with my old carb it never turned of but it was sluggish at low rpm!

also this a15 carb is brand new so accelerator pump is ruled out!!

thanks!

vacuum advance won't cause these problems. You can simply plug the advance hose and drive it for years.

New carbs often have a problem -- they have not yet been tested on a vehicle. Instead of trusting it, shine a torch down the throttle and confirm if the accelerator pump is squirting fuel or not -- then you can believe it.

Bad vacuum advance causes:
1. (if it is leaking) Vacuum leak, poor idle
2. If it is stuck, 10% loss of fuel economy, slight loss of smoothness on throttle transition, though most people won't notice

Since the carburetor doesn't work correctly, I would return it. You bought it brand new, correct? Get a refund.

hi i am back with maybe a solution?

today at idle i reved the engine and held it in the position were it stubles and starts to die just after idle.

and i sparayed some starting fluid in the carby while it was stubling and it smotthed out and reved nice!

so does this mean my jets are to small?

what jest need changing and were can i get them from?

Thanks!

It suggests that the jets are blocked, or the air jets are loose

hi so i was checking the carby again and ddgonzal is right about the accelerator pump i thought it was quirting fuel but upon closer inspection i found it to only squirt a drop of fuel which explains the engine cutting out!

so my question is were can i just get a new accelerator pump from without buying a whole new gasket kit! also this accelerator pump looks different to the a12 engine one its brass and slightly different!!

Thanks DD should of listened earlier just missed it thinking it would be good considering its brand new!
