would the clutch kit for an a12 heavy duty item be the same for an a15, need a new clutch for the a12 but putting the a15 in soon too, dont want to double up on clutch's as the a15 bolts up to the 4 speed g'box, i think that all the trowout bearing etc shoud be similar or the same

unless they changed recently, which i doubt, an a14 clutch bolted to an a12 flywheel as did an a12 heavy duty. don't no much on a15's but i'd imagine the changes between a12-a14-a15 would only be the springing tension in the pressure plate. e15 motors use the same clutch plate with different pressure plate. but, if you really get excited have the clutch plate redone to a paddle type (4spot) maintainig the sprung centre, shouldn't be a hassle to drive on the street and no chance of spinning it.

just checked where you are speak to BGT in hawthorn, i think, they did one for me years ago and i never had a problem

There are two different clutch disks (different splines) to match different transmission shafts ...

so what happens if i get the wrong one, what would i have to swap? at least ive got 5 gboxes to swap if i get the wrong one.
also will the fly wheels swap between the a12 and a15, they look and feel similar (same bolt up to crank)

dd are you talking auto/manual diffrence, i dont think theres any diffrence in others

I ran a Sunny wagon [A14] clutch in my 1000. It used the 1200GX engine, 1000 flywheel [lightened & drilled for 1200 clutch] & 120Y 5 speed box. I never ever had a moments problem.
Just get the clutch mob supply you, as a kit, an A14 or A15 pressure plate, the clutch disc that fits your gearbox shaft, & a release bearing that services your application, & i think these are the same for all A series from A12 on.

I'm probably wrong about this, but I thought one of the A-series transmissions used a different spline. Most of them are 18 splines, aren't they? None of the automatics I've seen used a clutch, I'm talking about the splines in the clutch disk. example of a clutch disc

i had a period of clutch problems and over about a month had an a12 standard, replaced by a12 heavy, followed by a14, then modified a14 to paddle clutch. also 3 different g-boxs in the car 2 standard a-series 4sp and an a-series option-1 5sp. never noticed different splines over here
