So are you going to have it finished before the August cruise? If so make sure you swing by and pick me up, or you could tow my ute behind you.

Dash looks great. Be careful with Perspex, try and get one off another type of car so he us not picky of it being a hazard in a crash.

6 month deadline- he never told me that

no chance of completing it before august ...

i also went out and bought a white board so i could write down stuff that i need to do when i thought of it

big things include Exhaust, windscreen,, drive shaft, pipes from fuel filler to tank, auto oil cooler, check all electrics and hoses, put it all back together (ALL panels removed)

I did want to give it a light sand all over and a clear flow coat

then there's the weight test, noise test ,brake test ...

the list just goes on and on

Weight test easy. Brake test easy if Gus machine works properly. Noise was pita. Took 4 goes. Do it good from start and restrict the crap out if it to shut it up. Build a better one later

time for an update...

Whenever i slip to page 3 on the Project Builds page it must be time

Anyway spent half the night with Tomo a few weeks ago and we got the 2.5" exhaust system welded in and finished off

Spent the last few weeks mucking around with wiring ... could not figure it all out - i was getting weird results. it ended up being all down to not attaching the earth wires (and the power was going everywhere it should not trying to get earth. ... Note to self ALWAYS ATTACH THE EARTH WIRES

Put the 1200 centre hand brake in forward and to the right so i can get a silvia centre console in ... still rough but getting close

Brake lines (front) renewed

King Springs - KDFL17's so they are low for Stanza struts but standard height for 1200

R31 fuel tank set up - fillers and breathers needed to have pipes to convert as they are not the same size between the R31 and the 1200

Lots of soldering and putting plugs on things (went to the local wreckers and cut 2 pin plugs off cars)

got the dash perspex shaped ready to put the dash together

figured out the ignition - the silvia is the same as the 1200 i.e. plug it in and it will work (spent hours blaming that when all i had to do was attach the earth wires ... see above)

finished off and painted the dash fascia - got a 250mm tin of colour matched acrylic in some sort of matt aluminum

Next bits:
1) wrk out why the drivers side headlight is not getting power
2) get a radiator
3) sway bar - may have to go maddat off the shelf
4) etc etc etc

Would love to see a pic of you handbrake repositioning and the console setup once you've perfected it.

Sounds like you should be ready to fire it up soon!

Hi edroth - you are welcome to come have a look if you are in Melbourne

Hi Andrew - SAD face .... I did all the work and then did a trial of putting my seats in ...SAD FACE - the silvia console does not fit between the seats. Back to square one.

i need to find a centre console that fits between the prelude seats
