For cost effect approach, its hard to go past the S13 conversin on B110/b210 struts. Ideal for streeters,
For the track I would go for the larger dia strut bodies around and take avantage of the better selection of strut inserts. And to add to that the larger strut inserts can deal with heat better therefore longer sustained control of bump and rebound.

Hey Benny,
I'll see how this setup works and if it's sh1te I'll try the S13 setup. I've got a set of 180B struts with RX7 four spotters that I'll use once the SR goes in. They're bloody heavy though! Should stop good but weigh a ton!

Thats a fair whack cheaper than mine Shoota.
Ill be nearing double by the time I finish my front struts.
Then still have to get all the rest of the steering / suspension gear.
Gets so expensive haha

To find out that the Skyline inserts were the go I went down to Repco and got them to pull out their Monroe catalogue. I looked up the Stanza insert then worked out what size insert they normally. I then went through all the listings and cross referenced the right diameter with the varying lengths of the inserts. The Skyline looked like a pretty good replacement and it's a good shock (Sensatrack). Bit pricey but should do the job. My only concern is that it is quite a bit heavier vehicle. The other alternative (from the list) is the Toyota Camry insert which is shorter again at 332mm so 4.4 inches shorter. I'm wondering if I should have gone for this one?
At the end of the day 3 inches is a fair drop and there will be another few inches internal as well.
Time will tell!

If I was to build struts again, I think I would do similar to sikyne and retube the struts to the commodore size, and fit bilsteins. After that, if I could afford it I would go with Murray Coote setup. MCA Suspension

I think you will be fine with the setup you are building Shooter, especially for the street.

cheers

1600, 200B, 240K and R30 Skyline are all 404mm so still a couple of inches shorter than standard.
The 240Z's are 381mm but have less travel overall than the Skyline. The list doesn't say whether they match properly. Obviously they do as people have used them before.
I got the guy at Repco to photocopy the list for me so if anyone wants a copy let me know and I'll scan it an email it to you.
