Tacho wiring, assistance please..

Hey, taking out the clock and chucking a factory tacho in my ute, lighting for the gauge, earth and power are all straight forward but can anybody tell me if there is the ignition feed and ignition to coil wires which already exist in a loom which from factory, didnt have a tacho. I can wire it up myself, but i thought if these connections already exist in the loom i can end up with an easier, and neater, factory looking job.
Any info appreciated, cheers guys!

yes, most 1200s have the wiring in the loom. Newer utes do not.
Tacho feed in 1200 dash harness, might be marked by yellow tape: ![]() If the newer ute doesn't have a dash harness LOOP, you can: * Find the BW wire in the dash, cut it, and connect to the tacho loop or * Run new wires from coil back into the cabin and connect to tachometer. my 76 ute didnt have the loop wires in the harness , i found the bw wires in the harness cabin side of the firewall , cut them & ran new wires to the loop on the back of the tacho pretty easy , make sure u have wires around the right way , if it doesnt work swap the wires around
