If you do it all yourself you can purchase the kits from Jaycar for less than $100. Door trims and carpet have to come out and mount the controller box behind the glove box. Once you mount the solenoids in the doors the rest is just running cables. Just requires permanent 12v from the battery.

Easy job. The hardest bit is running the wiring between the body and the car. Make sure you drill your holes in the right spot! The best way is to have one side higher, one side lower with about 10cm in between. That way the wires are twisting as a group rather than pivoting on the same spot over and over again. The wires will last a lot longer without breaking. You'll need a test light to find your 12 volt power source or just run it from the battery.

Yeah mate ive put central locking in my 1200 ute, only thing that you need to make sure is where you mount the door actuators, just make sure to mount them so they become fully extended during lock and unlock functions otherwise the motors themselves will burn out very quickly, other than that there is plenty of room inside the door and isnt really a big deal. i bought my remote central locking kit from super cheap auto for $99
