I just bought this abomination LOL

And I'm seeing the *fun* in finding parts already, though the A12 has part of that problem sorted. Front wheel bearing on drivers side is shagged and missing a seal and a spacer. I'm thinking of converting it to disk brakes up front but because it's not a McPherson strut front end, choices are limited.

Cabin is a lot smaller than a 1200 ute, and it has race seats in it which makes it even worse (probably be ok if you were about 5ft 6 or shorter, I'm 5ft 10 and my legs were burning because of the angle I had to hold my foot on the accelerator). I'm going to make a bench seat for it with a nice thin backrest on it.

The forward flip bonnet makes it easier to work on the engine.

Best mazda yet as it has a datsun motor ;)
more reliable than any mazda engine thats for sure.

wishbone front end can accomodate rx4 brakes using
mazda 1300 hubs with machined bearings but can
remember the details. Read it on some conversions.
Its indestructible suspension.

Chassis is better than datsun 1200 you can do almost
anything to it without the rust issues affecting the
structural integrity. Much stronger overall.

Only issue is it doesnt look as good as a 1200.
Though a very good buy and very different.
Would look into turbo a12 like Sykine is doing.

how would race seats give you less room? they're as thin as it gets!
1000 ute made up racecar style would be rad

unfortunately race seats do give less room
when getting in and out due to the ears and
body hugging designs. Stock seats you just
slide in and out.

As for looks, I think there are heaps of R100
mods that can spruce it up and make it look
awesome as they are all r100/1200 based.

Lowered with watanabes / starsharks, front lip,
guard mirrors and bolt on flares will make it

Its sep chassis can easily be extended for longer
wheelbase and the 1300/rx4 hub/brakes can be modded
for 114.3 and just use a h165 for the rear or
shortened r31 silo setup with lsd.

Engine keep a12 or a15 with turbo or later fit a 12a,
b1600/1800 or FE series engine
