The main problrm with high output engines is heat.
Cast Hypoeutectic pistons [under 12% silicon content] are the lowest cost & lowest strength, followed by Hypereutectic pistons [12% silicon or more], followed by forgings. Their strength & ability to dissipate heat also rise in that order.
The smaller bore sizes in our Datsuns mean that there is less piston crown across the supporting skirt, & this adds strength proportionately compared to a big bore piston, so in this case, small is good.

It might pay you to run a little more skirt clearance to help compensate for the additional piston growth as a result of the additional heat that they are likely to see, & running it a bit rich will help it to be "fuel cooled" & that is a good idea too.

You are right in part
Some is good
More is better
But too much is, by definition, still too much. I wish you well!

I was going to use 78mm Mazda B6 turbo piston s with slightly machine tops .. with a A14 crank.. there was a bit of machining to make then fit but i know they are a strong turbo piston std .. The mazda turbo conrod is also the same lenght and main bearing Dia is the same also .. But the width of the bearing is narrower .. so i couldnt use the rod for this reason ..

Ill probably make my ring gap a wee bit bigger to compensate for the extra heat, how do I increase the skirt clearance? The pistons are pre "loved" and the bore has a tiny bit of wear so It has already got some "racing clearences " built in. Besides Im way too mean to spend big money on a datto . Id rather pour silly money into my mopars , but that wont be anytime soon either.
