ndsoc wouldnt entertain the idea of looking at my ute for club reg, even though it fits in with their club guidelines (ie has engineers cert for mods) and has full registration.
but i think it has more to do with the fact that i wasnt yet an active club member...

Hey Guys, try to shed some light on this. Can depend on mainly which state you're in, but most clubs are set up as not for profits with ATO.
Basically you need to form a club (pres, Vice pres, Treasurer, members etc) which would need a constitution about what/who/why/where/when the club is for. Not for profits are income tax free, so not reporting to ATO. Depending on your state depends on what you have to do. For instance, here in QLD NFPs report audited financials to Qld Gov Dept fair trading.
Hope that helps.

it seems like it going to get harder to engineer cars so the quicker we start a club of our own so no probs on sensable tested mods and conversions. we will be left with a bloke that if he dosnt like u it wont happen or its going to cost u big were not driving mercs or bmw its all about playing with cars and exploring there limits cheaply and to suprise a few merc/bmw drivers at the lights and to show them its not about money

Being in a club doesn't negate the fact your car needs to be legal Infact alot of clubs the cars have to be stock or have period mods to qualify for club rego So modified cars aren't allowed to have it even if they are club members Also club rego vehicles are usually restricted usage You can't just slip down the shops in it as its not a sanctioned club run
So do some research with rego authorities before you contemplate
Easier to get an engineer sign off than form and run a club

log booked 90 days a year club reg in vic can almost drive every weekend for $114 a year and no comply to std rego requirments can drive any time but must fill out log book most clubs will require a rwc to get rid of the idiots then mates go straight thru. if its not wot thay like thay wont want it and ask for a rwc, then u might as well rego it legit. we get enough hands we could be the club nocking back the snobs in there rebuilt classics looking at some of our cars saying y did u do that,it never had that,u cant do that, its better off stock the way factory intended so we start our own club then we make the rules.
