What about 85-88 Honda Accord's A16A(1598cc) can it b fitted on to 1200 gearbox?

Hondas engines won't work in a RWD set-up. All Honda engines (except a few new ones) spin backwards. You would have 1 forward gear and 4 reverse gears.

Good point. Yet it could be done, the key is a reverse-cut camshaft.

But I doubt if barpk wants to re-engineer the engine or gearbox.

Yes, reportedly the E15 can be fitted to the rwd gearbox with some modification: E series OHC engine swap.

But barpk, you will have to do it yourself, no one here has details on how to do it. (they didn't write down the details back when it was done).
