Mike has to be the smoothest 4 rotor sound around but
its so clean for a rotor it sort of no rotor like. I actually started to like the overlapped Bp again. If only there was a 4 rotor 6 sec 1/4 mile contender!. My second favorite is the 1930s Auto Union 16 cylinder supercharged Monster - full stereo recommened http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I_uTPJrmqTs&feature=related Also if these guys can build a 48 cylinder kawasaki bike engine, Im sure some of us could probably build a straight 8 A series :)) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ratfuML9QA&feature=related

Another classic that is extremely hard to beat [imo] is the 1955/56 Mercedes 300 SLR straight 8 with desmo valve actuation.. what a machine.
1955 milla miglia something like 1000 miles covered in just over 10 hrs in the hands of Sterling Moss 300 SLR startup and another. Milla Miglia 2007

One of the first engines I had worked on as a kid, alongside my old man. We had two of these in an ex-military pacific landing craft. These were AWESOME engines compared to the tame Gardner 6LXC(?) engines that we had previously worked with.
Two Stroke Detroit Diesel's. Twin turbo. Noisey, smelly, thirsty bastards. This one is running without it's turbos, naturally aspirated. http://www.youtube.com/v/DSXKCG53zaA
