rear heater water supply ; two days ago i read comments u chaps made about the temp.Ijust want clarity.I take it the correct thing to do is to run a pipe from the rear[heater exit] to the front top radiator hose. At the moment i have my ecu heat sensor in the heater exit. fuel pump --I got myself a facet pump for the fuel inj. Any comments on pro& cons. thanks

The heater hose goes to the lower radiator hose on all A-series engines. But to block it, just fit a plug in the back of the head. You don't need to fit a hose.

Actually if you just block the out let at the back of head it was on the tomei thread they said it creates a hot spit on the head and could lead to gasket failure.

On my a series I always ran a lengthnof hose from the heater pipe bung on block around the bay and back into the water inlet pipe in the lower hose.

This ensured water flowed through the system (just no heater) as intended.

Surely there's a better blace for the sensor?

Datsun fitted thousands of 1200s with a plug in the back of the head. For every 1200 that didn't come with a heater.

I always thought it needed coolant flowing through there. I'd still fit a bypass hose.

i think if its a stock motor it wouldnt hurt to block.if its got work done and going to be doing some hard work i would recirculate it.

For those of you that have cars in hot climates, your heater is not on and/or never turned on which means no fluid is running through your heater core which basicly is the same as plugging the head. I'd say if you don't need the heater, just plug the head. The car wont over heat.

I disagree- even when closed there is still some flow through heater core. It alwas allow a trifle of flow through
