running a 1488cc A15. the engine will cut out suddenly and randomly at all speeds and at idle.a buzzing noise can be heard from the relay area. i think i'ts coming from the auto choke relay?? i think the wiring to choke may be incorrect as it's fed from the ballast resistor and not the coil. anyone knoe how it should go? thanks

The relay should be fed by 12V. See if that resolves the problem.

It also might be worth checking the anti dieseling valve on the carby if it has one. If the power is cut to this intermitantly it could cause the problem. Had a similar problem with my a12. Not sure if the A15 has an anti dieseling valve.

Run a wire from the battery straight to the resistor. You'll have to remove the wire to stop the engine (or dump the clutch). This will allow you to test it.
