I just got done changing oil. It is below freezing out there in the driveway! Ice crystals were forming on the garbage bin.

I finally finished up my cases of oil, so had to go to the store for the first time in about 3 years. Price has gone from $1/liter to $4/liter. Talk about' sticker shock'.

I never use single grade because multi is better, isn't it? Our temperatures vary wildly over a 3 month period. Today I used Castrol GTX 10W-30 for the OHC engine and Mobile Super 5W-50 for the DOHC Subaru. The 5W poured out like water, which I wasn't expecting, so lost a bunch all over the engine. Doh!

Funny thing, they had a Synthetic on sale for $4/gallon. I've never seen synthetic the same price as natural oil.

Why not use a factory or Ryco oil filter?

The factory CA18DET oil filter is about $12 while the the Ryco one is slightly dearer. I typically stock up on the Ryco ones when Super Cheap or Autobarn have a 20% off weekend.

Have you priced an RB one from Nissan spare parts?
