Ok now this may sound a bit weird but at the moment my 1200 ute has a lot .... well not a lot a few specks of rust in the back tray. im thinkin about cuttin out the tray and lining it with treated polished wood. Now my dad thinks im a dickhead cos it would look stupid, but seriously i have no idea. I prolly wont do it, but i need sum kinda idea.

I guess it could look alright, but (I assume)with the sides of the tray and the wheel arches being the same colour as the rest of the shell, it may look a little out of place.

You never know, you might find that it looks fantastic.

Good Luck!!!

ps: there is a mazda ute in Canberra that has a flat tray (like a HQ one tonner) that is polished wood and it looks very nice indeed.

i dunno, it might look okay if the color of the ute fits in but i think it being a wellbody it might look silly, have you thought of checkerplate? i know that looks good! and if you do it the side panels in the tray make them checkerplate aswell looks the biz.

thats my 2 cents

About 5 years ago when I advertised for a 1200, someone from down south rang and offered me a flat deck. He said it could get loose in the back on gravel like you wouldnt belive.
