So is that what black ice does dd? Being from Perth (where it's currently 4pm and still 36 degrees celsius!) I've never seen it, let alone experience it!
Closest I've come to a surface like that I guess is our ball bearing-esque gravel country roads and tracks... ![]()

We had two "once in 20 years" snowstorms last winter. I got stranded in another city when they closed the rd. They closed the kilmog hill less than 5 mins after we passed the sign where it get closed from. Took us a hour to travel a 15 minute drive. Idling in 1st gear with no brakes the whole way. There was quite a good fender bender right at the top too. The mrs was amazed that I got us through it. (She shouldn't be, I'm always telling her how awesome I am. lol)

that is just bad driving. AWD would fix that. Must not be an RS or GX.
It was raining here the other day, and a Suburu WRX takes the corner in front of me..off camber right turn at traffic lights. and goes 4 wheel drift for a foot, then puts his foot down. It corrects itself and leaps off down the road in the driving rain. I was very impressed at the full throttle traction. Seriously wouldn't mind one after seeing that. ps. nice photo of the 1200s! I was talking to a Guy in Seattle today who works for ATT, he's been snowed in for 4 days.

I'm guessing by bonnet scoop it was a turbo. Rs should have water to air intercoolers though from memory.
Stuff I've seen and done in my gt when I had it, in the rain and snow and gravel... Good and secure in wet, just a pita to fix and $$$$

lol... AWD only has more traction when you are accelerating.... and ABS probably stuffed him/her over when they paniced and hit the brakes too

1200rc has got it right. I suppose when all 4 are locked up and you start sliding down the street, only acceleration will help. All I can say for the guy is ...doh!

this is why not many AWD's finish wet/slippery rallys (or dont finish much quicker)..
they accelerate a hell of a lot better but they can't brake any better than anyone else You can view topic.
