im still having loads of trouble finding the correct length and correct threads/clips, so i can actually have a working speedo in my dat (coupe dash). i have a bluebird cable, a stanza cable, a 120Y cable and a stock 1200 cable ; none of them reach !!!

i know the wiki tells me to use an 810 one, but recently at a wreckers mission I found a nissan/datsun 810 and it was the same length as the stanza & bluebird cables i have, which are only a bit longer than the stock cable.

the speedo ends of the stanza/bluebird cable i have also dont seem to have the correct threaded connection either, so even if they did reach, they wouldnt be able to screw in to the back of the speedo..

can someone help me out a little, perhaps just sell me a cable which will fit ?? my coupe is a RHD from Australia... the ODO has been on 34395 for like yeears..

edit: i bought an 810 cable off ebay last night, looks nice and LONG.. fingers x'd

hi evilsim, i noticed you are in sydney, there is a place called "general auto cables" in liverpool. they make custom cables to any length,it includes inner new cable and new outer black housing.
if you get stuck bring your end fittings and he will do the rest.I got my accelerator cable made there.he also does speedo, handbrake cables to.
if you are interested the number is 9730 0487

thanks for that contact - I'm about to go a similar route, and need a new cable too!

PL1200 thx I know I can pay someone like 100$ + to get one made but I wanted to recycle parts ! I will tell you guys how this one from ebay goes. It looks PERFECT !

this is the one i bought - Open in new window

450mm longer than these

edit: well it arrived! and it *should* reach, being 450mm longer than the longest cable pictured below (click link).. it has a diff speedo fitting, not a screw-on like it should be, but a clip-in type fitting. i will make it work
