Only issue with those small cars they are holding thier value as more young people get on road and other drivers want cheap cars on fuel.
Jap cars usually cheaper to fix. Get a camry or even holes appolo etc. same mechanicals but cheaper to buy. Also no resale when you flog em off though. ![]() Think lexan vs commodore lol

You mean Lexan vs Plexiglas? One cost more, but both are basically the same plastic.
Go with a GM-badged Corolla. The Toyotas cost too much for an old car. Or a Suzuki. Or even a newer Kia, they are cheap and DOHC.

I agree with DatsAmore and greendog, I'd be looking for a cheap small Jap car. My daily Corolla is 20 years old and it still goes like it is brand new. Rust will kill it before the engine dies.
Granted it does require maintenance but it is a lot cheaper then a European car. Cheap to run too. There are an abundance of parts available for Toyotas, Hondas etc

No dd Toyota and Holden (gm) had a product sharing agreement and they sold essentially the same car with different badges. Nissan and ford did it too.

I'd buy a nissan.
I got the sh1ts with daily-ing datsuns. So I got an A31 cefiro. It was a bit rough, and not as good on gas as an A12. BUt for a daily, power steering and aircon are a nice touch. I hocked that off, and bought a wgc34 stagea. Thats a real nice car. Once again, not real stingey on gas. The mrs drives it atm. And I'm daily-ing a PB310. So I've come full circle............
