FYI, you can get coil-overs for the rear from Troy Ermish Racing.
As far as cutting struts, You'll need shorter inserts, so I'd say find the shorter inserts you want first, then cut the housing to fit. Also, in case you didn't know, the 280ZX struts are shorter already. And they use 10" vented disc brakes with bigger calipers/pads. It makes a HUGE improvement in stopping ability. And with a few slight mods they will bolt right up. Rear coil-overs available by clicking here. Photo: ![]()

One question about a 610 station wagon (estate) gear box/transmission.
Today, cruising down my neighborhood, Redondo Beach, in California, I drove by a restaurant(chinesse food), and saw a parked 510, lowered, with 240 Z 14 inch wheels, chromed, light green color, looked like it was some Datsun enthusiast. I drove in, in my B210, lowered, 13X8, 215 /50/13 tires, konis, intimidating for any fellow Datsun fan, nobody knows I still have a stock A14 engine, although it has a 32/36 Weber, anyways, I parked next to his 510, and , sorry to say, because I know there are big diameter fans around, my 13X8 lowered 215's Datsun looked impresive next to the 14X4.5 wheels the 510 had, well, I inquired inside and the owner came out, it was the chef's car, and he gladly came out and exchanged info and other Datsun stuff. He told me he has a 610(180B) station wagon he 's parting out, and he told me he has a 5 speed tranny for me...(my 180B is a auto, which I intend to correct.)... My question is, for 80 US bucks I can get this gear box/transmission. Anybody knows about this tranny/Gbox? is it good, would it be better or about same to a 280ZX one? need some advise, because I am ready to buy it, for the price it is cool, so waiting for some expert advise. Well, right now I'm planning to keep the '74 valance and maybe find some rectangular fog lights that fit in the holes in the '73 front bumper. That is unless I get the front end sheetmetal from a '73 wagon a friend is parting out. And just for goofs, me and dimlight65 test-fitted some '71 510 bumpers last week... looks like with some slight trimming they will fit...

About the 510 bumpers, and being so dificult to get foreign(foreign to the US) bumpers for my 120Y/B210, and, being 510 bumpers so common(can be gotten new), I though about trying those in my B210(at Shasta last year I came about to that thought). For the 610, the front bumper might work , it is similar in shape, but the rear is another story, would have to brainstorm that one out, a rear 610 w/ a 510 bumper...perhaps.
I was thinking, the bumpers that came in the 610 with the big protruding US bumpers can be dismounted, gotten rid of the shock(bumper) and all the extension parts like the rubber behind bumper, and with homemade brackets, those can be installed as if they were pre 74(73 or earlier) bumpers, which look like the overseas version. The front 610 "bad" bumper does not have the signals on the bumper, but it comes with metal covers in place. The rear , though, has an area cut off for the shock extensions(rubber part), but that too, can be covered with metal, by welding a piece there, body working on it and painting the bumper, black, or , same as car. Anyways, the 510 on 120Y might work too. later._________________________

Well, the 510's will fit with some trimming of the bumpers and custom brackets. When I do it, I'll document the swap and write an article about it.
If it ends up being way too much trouble, I'll probably stick with no bumpers at all. You can view topic.
