been thinking for years that a spread sheet containing all the measurements of parts would be a great centre of knowledge for the community
I've been teaching myself how to put together fancy spreadsheets in excell and now with better file sharing sites on the internet im thinking it would be a great time to give this a crack the idea is basically for me to design a spreadsheet and share it on the web, it would contain all the measurements of 1200 parts and all those of typical part swaps.... like lower contol arm lengths/brake mounts/diff sizes, stuff like that it could also include weights and other notable things, like gearbox ratios or whatever It would be great to collect all those things currently in peoples heads and on scrap pieces of paper in to one place, so basically with that in mind i would love to start collecting data from everyone on things they have measured over time so i can piece together a start point so if people would like to email (current email address in my profile) or post measurements here and i will start assembling a spreadsheet and investigating a file sharing website where we can all access the data im wondering if it would be better for all to be able to edit this or just a few that can verify data as it is entered? p.s. i know the wiki has a lot of stuff and can sort of handle this but i dont really think it serves the purpose as well as a concise spreadsheet with solid data would

Great idea but a macro or similar may be needed. Instead of spread sheet have you thought if a database type set up? Can't remember the name of the program

Google Doc's spreadsheets...
You can make them public or just link to it etc. You can also make it read only with yourself as owner/editor. I use them for keeping track of our punting club, people can update their results and everyone can track it, easy as..

I've got some various data I cam send to you. I started weighing everything some time ago so I have weights for various components etc. I'll send them to you in the next week or two.
