Calder is a boring course in my opinion. Concrete walls aren't a worry at Calder as they cut the final loop off so its only the main strait wall that will be a issue.
Sandown and winton are both great tracks and take a bit to get right.
The island track is nuts but its dear to do days there compared to Sandown&Winton but worth it if you can afford a little more and have a reliable car with a couple of spares!

Thats my two cents

calder does an open practice day every Wednesday i think (it's on their website), we should make a date to all go and apply for annual leave or whatever, it's boring because its flat, concrete walls arn't a problem there

i think it may be $300 for the day

Ummm yeah flat and boring but for a first time racer setting your self up in a car you haven't driven or know is 100% reliable yet- seems a perfect venue to build track time and confidence IMHO.

We are not all schumachers lapping hokenhiem regularly.

Personally I wouldn't be game in pi till some decent track time, even sandowns rear straight catches out the mildly talented drivers.

Just chip away at it nic a d do your thing.

only problem with calder is that its so bumpy it almost is a rally stage.

some might say its boring, depends how you look at it.
its a small track with only a few corners, i like the challenge of trying to go quicker
and quicker as its hard to find time around there

either way, datsun + racetrack + going flatout legally = awesome fun

whens the shakedown run likely to be?
and mildman? you ready YET?
