Hi all,

Does anyone know of a x-flow head that'll fit on the A12 block? Current setup is non x-flow "gx" head with twin DHLA40 dellortos
& custom extractors.

dont quote me on this, but i've been told that a mazda B series twin cam head, MX5, TX3, 323, those motors, fit on the A series block. i've been told its a bolt on fit.
whether it works properly or not i dont know either. all you'll have to do is work out timing gear. got me stuffed with how to do that as well. anyways, there's an experiment
for ya

I've also heard E15 pulsar x flow head can be made to fit with some work. I think some guy did it in USA. Never heard of the mazda head swap but.
Big job i bet!!

yeah big job i reckon. but apparantly the only big job is the timing coz its a twin cam head. its supposed to bolt straight up and match all oil galleries etc. ah well. i'll
leave that to some crazy guy. the A-series head works fine

Justin.

p.s. how many of you guys in sydney are thinking about coming on the SDC club cruise?

Ladies and gentleman, hobos and tramps, cross-eyed mosquitos and bow-legged ants...

I'm looking for a 1200 coupe (not sedan), body/trim in excellent condition, no rust. Engine/drivetrain/suspension condition does not matter other than car needs to be a roller.
If it drives, all the better!

"Finder's fee" of $100-$200 paid if you find me a coupe I eventually buy. Will travel (in U.S.) to collect the right car.

IMHO, it would be less work to install a Ca18 (or even a toy 4Ag) than it would be to convert an A-series to twin cam.

Justin , I'm taking my 1000 on the next SDC cruise.. Luke & Mark might be coming down from Newcastle in their 1200 coupe too (its got a turbo'd A12). I think Adam (etdood)
will probably come in his 1200 sedan also.

James.

yeah i saw the turbo'd A12 coupe on the last sdc cruise. it goes alright, i'd still beat him though i think. actually i'd bet my balls on it coz he couldnt get away from me and i was on
and off the throttle all the time coz i was up his arse. i wouldn't go for the draw through set up with the turbo though. but hey, it still works.
i'm going to see my mate about his 1000 coupe tomorrow so i'll be able to get you all the possible info you need on monday night if you want. sorry its taken so long but he only got back
for new zealand yesterday

anyways talk to ya soon

I sold Luke (owner of the turbo'd 1200) an a14 oval port head which he has put on his a12 to lower the compression, and increase port/valve size. He's also made a new
exhaust manifold, and should be able to turn the boost up a bit more with the lower compression, So I'll be interested to see how it goes now, compared to our a14's.

James.

nah mines an A15. but it would still be intresting to see how it goes after just changing the
head and lowering compression.
