i'm with them it would be a huge job for loss of handle ing and reliability, plus you would be cutting up a perfectly nice datsun. go with something that can give you heaps of power still but think about the cost, does the wank factor over take the cost. is that much wank worth that much to you?

but as i mentioned, a tape measure will remove all questions.

he only has to measure it up. if it aint gonna fit, it aint gonna fit.

but don't discount it until you've measured it.

Well I have just dug out my photos of my old sunny with the L18 in it and looking thro them. I found a photo with the head of and it shows how tight the gearbox is to the top of the trans tunnel and also how close the block is to the fire wall. So as the RB 20 is a straight 6, I think that it could be done IF AND ONLY IF you want to spend lots of $$$$$$$$ to cut the hell out of the front of the car. But if you have LOTS OF $$$$$$$$$ then I think that $$$$$$$$ would be better spend on something else like a V6 or the like, just even for the fun of trying it!!!

So IF I had the money to do it and the time I would try it just for the fun of it to see if it could work!

Spot on Chris.

The RB20DE/&DET are dogs of engines anyway. An FJ, CA or SR are better for power development and lighter.

The V6's keep the weight back and keep the handling reasonable.

Here in NZ you can put ne motor in ne car and so long as you get the engineers report sighed' your away. VG20 turbo easy enuf 2 find, look out 4 a 82 maxima turbo. As for the RB20de, you could get a RB20e out of a cefiro for under $400 less 'box. Hmm... like the idea but the reality could be costly

true, they are dogs.
i would rather build a turbo A15 with quad throttles and a celica box than do an RB20 conversion.

but that's me.

if you want an RB20DE, then do it. it might not be the best option available, but it's different.

and that's what matters.
