Well I have been slowly working away on this. I caught up with mike (dundee1000) and borrowed a h89 head.

I bought a GA16DE head but I still need to confirm I can use the camshafts with the bore spacing being slightly different to the A series.

The model has been progressing aswell. Could upload a picture or two as well...

what happened to the mazda DOHC head that someone on here was toying with modifying to fit an A series some years ago? did they end up getting it to fit? I stopped coming on here for a while when I jumped camp to toyotas (well I sold all my cars but I don't really have an allegiance per say, but still believe toyota make better gearboxes and diffs ;)

also did the guy that was trying to get an E15 to fit a RWD gearbox end up finishing his project?

GA head is better than Mazda as it has ideal valve angle narrow head
The wide mazda head is old stuff 50 degreess versus the ideal which is
now halve of that at 25 degrees. The only downfall of the stock GA is
the ports are small but American tuners have found heaps of meat in
port area that can be removed to improve flow by 60% more!

If you can make a 3 valve pushrod head using the ARAO 4 valve like layout
youll have more than a couple of buyers here.

Yeah. It fits. The E15 bolts only an a-series box, bar one bolt. It works fairly eaisly. I have one sitting in my shed if you want to come look. The only real problem is that the dizzy is in a #OOPS# of a position, but thats overcome with some lateral thinking.

I have been working away on this slowly, here are some pics of the progress.
I still have to model the oil galleries and water galleries and play around with different ports using flow simulation
At the moment it is GA16DE cams, valves buckets etc
Comments or opinions are welcome!!!

Very very nice work, just so you know there is also a more commonly available engine you can pinch the cam gear from it has a much simpler exhaust slave cam setup found on countless late 80s and 90s corollas the 4afe or 7afe.
248hp from a 4afe has proven modern narrow valve update is even better than any formula atlantic 4age or 20v 4age wide angle valved heads.
http://board.tercelonline.com/viewthr ... ction=printable&tid=45398

if you look at the slave cam with single belt driven setup it could be much easier to be modded on an A series.
