I have TRX rims on mine and it is very low car. the tires are 195 50 it took some work and spaces on the stanza struts in the front the car is set up perfectly and does not scrub what so ever. The ute is lowered 2 inchs all round and has a camber kit on the front end handling is awesome.

Thanks for the replies everyone, it looks like there is a lot to choose from out there that will fit.

The wheels I tried were a 280zx series II wheel which were in perfect condition but just didn't fit so I was a little annoyed.

I'll have to keep an eye out now and see what I can find.

Thanks again

There is two ways that I know of:

1. You get lowering blocks. They are small rectangluar tubes of steel that are placed in between the axle and the leaf (where the U clamps are situated). Due to the leaf spring going under the axle, this pushes them further down and lowers the rear.

2. You have one of the leafs inverted. When the leaf is turned upside down and uses the same mounting eyelets, it pushes all of the remaining leaves down a little flatter.

Someone else can probably explain that a whole lot better for you.......

I have 2 utes, 1 method on each. i will take some photos tonight and post them up here.

getting the springs reset would be the best and proper way to do it.

But i put 2inch lowering blocks in mine in easy took no time havent had any problems. cost me $60... but also depends what motor?? i have heard people with CA's in 1200s had heaps of axel tramp problems with lowering blocks.

but yes if you wanna spend few more dollars and do it properly.... reseting is the way.

B120dat is right about the axle tramp, my ute with the CA18 in it has the inverted leaf and I don't get axle tramp. but prior to that, it tramped like a dirty little bogan.

The ute with the lowering blocks is only an A15 with webers, so it is fine.

I have all the power of the A12 with 86,000km on it.

I am about to do the Stanza strut upgrade to the front so after that I will take it to a spring place just near home and see what they can do to even it up. And the cost of resetting them.

The lowering blocks sound like a good option as well.

i have lowering blocks in mine but what everyone said is rite when ever go ca18t i will get them reset if not removed for a 4 link. It all depends on what ur goals 4 the car are.

I dont no about everyone else but i find my rear is fairly bumpy but its a small price 2 pay 4 much better handling and it does slide the tail much better Great fun

My new wheels are "Performance Tempest" 15x6.5 195/50
I have three inch blocks in the back and have had no problems.
The wheels went on the front with any problems but my front struts have been changed at some time before i got the ute...
