I dunno, I think with a few changes though it would probably grow on me! I would change the front lights to something like a 520/411 bluebird style quad headlights, and changed the rear side window to something custom - hotrod style, maybe a roof chop?

Good luck getting an ICV application approved for that frankenstein.
All paperwork and applications etc have to be submitted BEFORE picking up a spanner, or the application gets binned as a matter of course. For what its worth, I think its a waste of a coupe AND a ute. Might make a fun paddock basher but thats about it.

That's what the credit card is for, the engineer will have to do it all per a new engineering plan.
Someone in USA should buy it to keep it out of the scrapyard.

I'm surprised that there are fans of this car on this forum let alone blokes who think they could put rego on it. Not in NSW anyway.
That's not air bubbles, it's rust coming through a $hit load bog from where they joined two cars together, lol. Danger, keep away. I would love a spare a14 but I get the feeling the owner thinks that his little mutant is worth a bit of cash.

well, I wouldn't be so hasty in saying that all vehicle graft ins are dangerous. I have seen some rally cars that have basically had two cars welded into the one to repair serious accident damage. If it is done right , it can be as strong as a standard car. how do you think older cars were built , from the one piece of metal? :) they were lots of different pressed sections, welded / seam welded together but newer cars are using less and less sections as technology gets better. But yea, as people are basically saying, I would want to see the work underneath the paint before letting go of my money, as it's basically a useless heap of iron if it can't be regoed. pity the original owner didn't just keep the ute regoed from the start, he would have probably gotten away with the mods by now.

Shoom, I agree. I wasn't saying that this is dangerous as all major body mods and repairs are. I was saying to be very careful as the build quality looks suspect to me. I havn't had a good look obviously but in my opinion it looks like a backyard cut and shut and I personally would not buy with the expectations of getting it engineered and rego'ed. There is lots of rust coming through the side which appears to be full of bog and there is the box section for strength put on top of the floor which is already has rust where the floor meets the beam.
In my opion it would be difficult to get this body mod engineered or even blue slipped when it's already failing with rust. Expecting that this could be easy done and paying accordingly = danger. Good luck to guy and I hope somebody can save this datto. ![]() ![]() You can view topic.
