Hey Dave,
That for sure is a no. I have plans to travel back to the midwest to see my folks and the best time for me was during the Blue Lake gig. Some day i will get down there. Maybe after the new motor goes in. I do believe that i will be satisfied with this motor. The z24 is fast but not fast enough.

Took the engine apart today. Ziplocked bagged and labeled parts. Block looks good. Ill get it down to the machine shop next week. The shop wants $300 to to do the head. He said the KA head is a pain in the butt. Ive work with Jay for years so he knows what he's talking about. No hurries so i'll wait for some more cash to get it done. So for now a hone and hot tank for block and parts.
With all the emissions gone, i should be able to squeeze out more than the stock 155hp.

Someday.
My goal is to make my name in Portland when i go down to race the White Zombie and beat him. Ha Ha!! Well thats my plan. This weekend im headed north to the canadian border for some KA parts. Found a guy who has some Forged Pistons and Rods and some Stage 3 Cams. Im going to build this engine right. No more stock crap. I still have race days coming up for the Z24 although i can hear that 3rd rod bearing knocking again. Last and final season for that motor. Not going to waste my money on a dyno but still want a quarter mile run time. We will see. 400hp for a KA24DE supercharged with some juice is not far fetched.

I know you will do it. I raced white zombie and won!
You win some, you lose some. Even the zombie. Note the Reaction Times. ![]() http://youtube.com/v/Y3THUk5_jEw

I dont know DD. Looks like you got smoked unless you were the one that had the closer lane. Couldn't tell. :)
Picked up my second KA24DE motor yesterday. Looks like the first ones going to be the doner motor. This motor has Crower Stage 3 cams and Aries Forged pistons with Eagle Forged Rods. Only thing wrong is that the head has a blown spark plug hole. So the first motor will provide the head. I had the kid pull the pan so i could see the internals of the motor. He was telling the truth when he said the motor only had 4000 miles on it. For him, i think it was just a good reason to put a RB motor in his 240sx. I'll post some photos when i get home.

Dropped off the head at the machine shop today. Jay told me that even with the Crower Stage 3 cams, i could still go stock on the springs and valves. Dave Crower said that upgrades wouldnt hurt. Im going with Jay. He said that head would rev. to 8500 no problem. He also said that if your supercharging it, i wouldnt need larger valves so $300 bucks for the rebuild and not $800.
The block is good to go. The motor i pick up only has 4000 miles on it. Pistons, rods and cylinders are clean but Jay mention something about changing my bearings to 'H' bearings. Says they are harder. Anyone know about these? You can view topic.
