would be good to have all the gearbox ratios listed somewhere so you could see which ones have decent ratios

Ratios for 720 / Navara are wider at 3.592, 2.057, 1.361, 1.00, .852.

thats not bad 1:1 fourth is just what it should be
but compared to the other boxes 3rd is also fine on the navara box the problem is 1st gear is as good as a T50 toyota box the other gears are fine or very close to the other 71c series boxes.

Anyone know if the 1st gear is interchangeable in a navara box with any of the other box's listed here?

you should pe able to change the gearset to one from another 71c easy enough, plenty of silvia boxes and stuff around
