He thats great news. Would have been a shame not to see your wagon finished the way you intended (even if it will have some unengineered parts being put back on once you get that stamp of approval).

I was starting to contemplate selling mine in parts after your earlier post...but now I just think I need to hurry up and get it on the road before the goal posts move again.

Good luck with brake test etc.

i gotta ask, what was the idea behind getting it registered with an a-series engine
only to convert it and engineer it weeks later?

No need for rwc with ca gear that's why Ange.

Easier for reg and rwc with a series.
The vass report is all that's needed to change details over and the change of details form at Vic roads.

hmmm i see... but how does that make it easier?

if the entire car is roadworthy a few weeks before, hows another engine and gearbox going
to make it unroadworthy? unless the ca is full of oil leaks and maybe a full hectic blow off valve?

I needed to be able to drive it to do most of the conversion as i dont have anything to build the car where i live. So was constantly driving out to dads to do stuff to it. Was more than just the engine that changed, not that it would have been any harder to get a roady as it is now.
Just a lot easier to be able to drive it without worrying about having a permit that only lets you do limited things
Didnt really know how long it would take between rego and engineers too. And needed a registered car as the ca was in my other car, the suzuki, before this so it had to be a pretty quick swap so i wasnt without a car for too long
also the engineer is a lot happier with a registered car as its easier to do the testing
and such

having already regod was also handy with the weight as sanjay could see what the tare that was recorded at vicroads was. That wasnt so much a planned thing though

cadet1200. Id get in contact with sanjay to make sure he knows you are still doing the conversion. As long as he still has your paperwork you will be fine as it was started before the rules got stricter
