Matto1kUte Posted on: 2012/7/29 13:30
hey guys just needing some info on setting up a 34/34 weber for blow through turbo setup. i have a near new subaru turbo and dont want to kill it by going suck through turbo. im guessing i need a malpassi rising rate 1:1 regulator. what mods needs to be done to the weber and what fuel pressure do i need to set my fuel pump at?

Ive done it.
Fuel pressure regulator, plastic floats, popoff valve and a high pressure fuel pump.
Copper spray seal all your carb gaskets
Build yourself a box.

so how do i set the fuel system up? ive seen others not boxing in there carbys. if im running 9psi does that mean i should set my fuel pressure to 13psi? im guessing once its set to 13 psi it has to go through a malpassi regulator? sorry im new to turbo blow through setups :/

You need to have that fuel pressure set at a normal 3-5 psi when at idle and above your turbo at boost pressure. Thats the ticket.
Your car should have a return breather line that comes from the tank and connects to the firewall. Look for it. Use that as a return line for your fuel pressure regulator This will help you regulate that pressure from 3-15. When you have vacuum at idle, the regulator will open up the valve and redirect most of the fuel back to the tank lowering the pressure.
You can either build a box completely around your carb or just on the top. Either way, you will need plastic floats. The stock brass ones will crush (see my photos) . The top carb gasket and carb to intake gasket must be sealed tight. I used a cooper spray on the gaskets and then let the dry before installing.
Do not do a suck through on a turbo.

Do not do a suck-through with an intercooler. It is permissable if you have no intercooler.
