didnt i go over this earlier? Your local mechanic should be able to source all if not most of the parts needed for your engine, pistons, gaskets, bearings, spark plugs, leads etc... Repco/Bursons have your general consumables such as oil filter, air filter, fuel filter, radiator coolant, fan belts, oil etc. Pretty sure ACL does pistons/gaskets/bearings too. Otherwise contact Auto surplus as they will have the bits you need if notbe able to source them... everything inc. oil pumps, water pumps, from top to bottom... Otherwise if you're after specific second hand parts from here, put up a wanted post in the classifieds.

to be 100% honest a12s dont go ,youd be better off buying an a15 for a little more than an a12 and then give it a rebuild shave the head ,cam and a dgav weber as mentioned before ,will go heaps better as its already more displacement ,and has the head youd want if you were to build an a12
its up to you realy but ive had both a hot a12 and now an a15 and the a15 #OOPS#s allll over the a12 ,it sounded cool but thats about it ,unless you spend heaps on them they dont go
cheaper to just go for an a14 or a15 and it will be cheaper in the long run for the same power
ps bige is awesome for parts A+ for service ,highly recommend using him ,realy knows a series motors inside and out!

Let's be honest here. My A12 just went 1200 km at 4500 RPM. So certainly they do "go".
But you are correct in that a stock A14 or early A15 will have more power than a modified A12.

Yeah I'm the same boat zakdat. That's why I built a hot, well mild a12 so that it had a bit more, and I would say I'm most definitely happy with it but I spent the same about on that when I could of had a fresh a14/15 with a set of carbs... I agree with Estyre to a point. An a12 will not go as good as hard as an a14 or15 if you don't wanttospend the money on it... Look at sikynes turbo fuel injected a12 with the stock bottom end, NOW THAT THING GOES!!!! Haven't read that thread closely but I'm pretty sure he's done most if not all of it himself...

If you have an early model a12 (dizzy at the front of the block) I have a mild cam, same as in my engine. I had this ground to a 240 wade cam (not sure of specs but I have them here...) an it's for an early block, turns out I was putting it into a late model block, no go lol. So I went and had another cam ground. I paid 120 to have the cam ground, make me an offer if you're interested. Cheers
