He's only doing what he's told.
Painted my new KA engine block and pan black yesterday. My head should be done this week. Ill have to start collecting gaskets and stuff. Going with a MLS head gasket. My expense is the aluminum welding for the intake. I have access to a welder but im horrible and the guys at the shop suck at it too. I may just tack the parts together and get the weld shop to do the rest. If that gets done, i'll be closer than next year getting this motor in.
I guess we will see.

The weld shop i have been using for years has a guy that does awesome tig welding but he's not cheap. I will most likely tack all my parts together and then take it to him. But first i have to kick out $300 for my head which is going to be done probably tomorrow.
Its fun building madness.

I enjoyed the day. Wont race again until August.

All the cars shown against me I beat but I was disqualified for breaking out (going too fast) against the Chevy Trailblazer SS with a 6.0L V8. It was still a win for me!

Im still running the 1/8 mile Bart. And the 1/8 has been shorted up due to safety reasons. My fasted time is 7.8. The fasted cars there do it in just under 5 sec.
The 1/4 mile track is a drive from here and i just dont think im going to make it this year. Since i will be pulling the Z24 motor this winter, I wont get it dyno'd. Ive agreed to my self that the KA will be the last conversion i do to this car. I think i will be satisfied with it.
I still have some 1/8 racing left this season on the Z24.

Drove the car up to the autoparts store to pick up some gaskets for the KA motor.
The Z24 is starting to make that #3 rod baring knocking noise again. I replaced the bearings last year after the same noise. Probably only a 1000 miles on the motor since then.
I need to order a MLS head gasket online for the KA. The store doesn't stock it. The heads done so the motor can go back together. Still trying to decide on the intake manifold for the supercharger. Wont know until the Z24 is out of the car.
As for now, I have a deck to build, my house to paint and my guest house to remodel and among other things. Ill save the engine for the rainy wet season.

Motorama Day #1 at the Evergreen Speedway

Check the link:
Evergreen Street Drags Facebook

Day #2 Today. Racing starts at 1pm.
Hoping to see more cars out there. I think I ran about 15 passes yesterday. The Z24 motor is still running strong in the 1/8th Mile. 5 psi of boost and 50hp shot on the Nitrous. A 10 pound bottle can go along ways on a 50 shot.
With work and working on my house, Havent been dealing with the KA motor. The motor is ready to put back together but I still havent ordered a Head Gasket. I did pick up most of the other gaskets. Just need some crappy weather to stay in the garage and get it done. Right now the weather has been so good.
