32/36 dgev ? the carby id will be located on the base plate looking from the side.

looking more closely, im going with a 32/36 dgv-5a.

any chance you could give me a hint as to what the letters actually mean, and will it fit my 1200?

There is a chance I can pick this up for a song, but if it doesnt fit, it will be a really expensive paper weight.

Oh, and what sort of manifold options will I be looking at (if it will fit)

dgv-5a -manaul cable choke operation
dgev -electric choke operation
dgav -water temp choke operation

32/36 - 32mm primary throat throttle plate size - 36mm secondary throat throttle plate size

primary and secondary venturis are 24 and 28mm from memory.

What does "5a" means?

It will work with a 1200. Use the stock manifold. All you need is the 32/36 adapter plate and a bracket for the throttle cable.
