Just want to know if anyone out there knows much about this motor. Found one for a reasonable price and I keen to know more about it before I hand my money over.

they 'seem' to be a crossflow L20, but i don't think they're as good. similar to camparing a CA20 to an L20, sure there's similarities, and a little bit more power, but they're a very disappointing engine to drive comparitively.

please note this isn't my experience, just what i've heard from people who have done the conversion.

In stock form, I think it is slightly better than an L20B (?).

For in-depth info about putting one into a 1200, search for "chickenhawk".

The only person on here I've seen do the conversion is dimlight65 (the car is called the ChickenHawk). And he was VERY happy with the result. Driving that car was unbelievable.

That engine/trans (Z20E/5spd) will soon be in my 1200 Coupe and the ChickenHawk will get a 3.3 V6.

Anyone else on here actually done the swap?

yeah like i sadi, not my experience, just what i was told.
it would more than likely make more power in modified form than an L20.

but if you're looking at something different, i'd go the KA24DE.

The Z20E is a great conversion and gives a stock 69 Rear Wheel Kw's.
Reliable as an L series and the head can be made to breathe well in N/A form.

If you can get the EFI version with computer and loom (Z20E) its the way to go.

They start so easy and give good torquey power all the way up to 6000 with a set of extractors and good exhaust. You can make them run higher with a bit of head work.
