Welcome Wendy, Not sure about panel beaters in Perth but someone here will surely be able to recomend the right business.
Some pics of the car would be nice :) Cheers, Levey.

Hello back
You can see the rust spot on the lower drivers side, inside is rust free thank god, needs a good clean and cosmetic stuff thats all. Not much needs to be spent to keep her on the road, as I have two sets of tyres and other bits want I want to know is what is recomended when I fill her tank up, some are say 91 ULP some are saying put a pill in it too Attach file: 120827DriverSidesmaller.jpg (100.04 KB)![]()

You can buy aftermarket fenders for about $80 and then just get them painted, should work out cheaper.
I got mine from SSS Automotive parts. Not sure if they still sell them though so ebay might be the go. Nice sedan :) For unleaded just use 91 or even better 98

Very happy with it, very sound except for that bit of rust, checked the sill and it's fine, just surface by the looks of it, the car has always been garaged and looked after by the owner, always preferred the sedan over the coupes, I think it was for ease of access with a baby seat years ago, no problems like that these days but still like the 4 doors, I might attempt to wash it tomorrow,

Nice looking bus there. Panel beaters who do rust are hard to find. That requires knowledge and patients which seems to be in short supply. I use a private guy who is great but he doesent really take on random people and he is pricey. Just ring around till you find someone thats suits your needs.
Oh and welcome by the way.

Thanks R_T
I was told farress in Malaga will dot it, they did the rust on my 32 ford over 5 years ago, It's such a small area it may be worth replacing the side panel

Hi Guys,
I used to be a sydneysider for many years, but been living in Perth since '08, living up near Joondalup. I am a Dato man, have a 1600 with SR20DET and also a long term love affair with a 1200 coupe. The coupe was fully restored 8 years ago but Ive beaten it up a little, so its just about to roll out of the paint shop this week hopefully after getting some panel work done and new paint. Used to run a CA18DET, then an SR20DET, and now am currently building an SR16VET for it. Hoping to be the first to do it in a 1200, using the head & crank off an SR16VE engine (JDM VZR Pulsar) and assembling into a RWD SR20 block and turbocharging. Car will be arriving in Perth later this year :) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Old Setup: ![]() ![]() New Motor (as it arrived still FWD): And the 1600: ![]() ![]() I always keep a keen eye out for Dato's in Perth, should start to see mine round a bit more now the 1600 is complete and the 1200 is well on its way! Cheers, Hayden
