#1 Sad day but my fling to the dark side ended this morning

Well she was going to replace my Datsun addiction back to Mazda but although I miss her badly after hours from parting I must say she was a beauty and a work of art for 1965.

If I put on her whitewalls with the factory chrome M hubbies, painted the bonnet to match, chromed the roofracks, guard mirrors back on as in factory and fitted the supercharger fed by an SU to the all alloy Hemi 800cc motor I would have still have kept her. The motor went like a bike engine because it pretty much was in those days with bore case and separate crankcase like a motorbike engine, you can change the rings by leaving the crankcase still in the engine bay!

All the chrome from the front was in the back to avoid rocks damaging its NOS bits on the way to QLD.

Here are some pics of the lady that almost made me sell all my other datsuns

That's a cool car!!!! I would almost push the Z4 out of the garage for that one. A new Beachy paint job and some permanently mounted surfboards on the top (or not if you surf) and you would be the sh#t!
Where's she going?

Shes going from Melbourne originally registered in Launceston Tasmania to somewhere in sunny Queensland and I was going to take my Malibu board in the summer to my usual hidden surf spot when registered but the Malibu would have made her take off like Mark Webber did here...

put some more pics up of the front seats reupholstering I welded on head rest mechanism after searching for a while for something retro, then settled with Hyundai excel 1998 head rests! semi circle ones in the same vinyl done for the seats.

Engine pics shows the little Hemi beast which was a work of art and even the original air filter covered most of the engine so ended up using a thick steel pressure cooker chopped up and painted black and air coming from the base from 2cm gap all round.
Was eventually going to paint all the tin work black in the engine bay as I didnt like the datsun colour Maz used then as it only suits datsuns!

Heaps of room for supercharger

Most likely going North but waiting to see how far market heads South.

The roof-rack gave good reception though :) almost as good as the wife lately so cant complain.
