its a diy thing, you'll find threads on ausrotary about it. its just moving the shifter forward, otherwise it sits in between the front seats right in front of the handbrake

Noticed the mad dat fitting kit appears to curve down so the top of the cross member is lower. Is this required or will it fit with the stock engine cross member (engine mounts cut off flush)?

well i cut out about 10mm out of the standard 1200 cross member and braced it. the maddat kit utilizes the side mounts, i forgot your going 13b so if you want to mount it from the front you'll have to use a 12a timing cover

If you use the Moroso oil pan, it will fit right over the stock Datsun 1200 crossmember.

that morosso sump is cheap and so are many aftermakert parts

The 13b is currently mounted from the front as its been fitted to a Rx7 S2 shell so no worries there. Might look into modifying the stock sump...

They are very easy to setup using the front mounts by making a crossmember to the bumper bar support bracket holes as to not have anything non-reverse-able.

If I go rotary single again I was thinking of tilting the motor using original rx3 modified on one side to provide better inlet path for better clearance for a sidedraft weber if NA or slightly more room for turbo or side mounted supercharger.

Would tilt also help with clutch fork? I'm keen on this tilt idea of yours.

nope, your better of just running your inlet manifold over the top of the motor i reckon or just run a downdraft

Can you throw away the clutch fork and use a hydraulic release bearing?
