B120_Dat posted some pics for a memeber, LAcky was his name (maybe??) He has a 12" mounted inverted into a box (bolted in so that the magnet is on the outside and the sub is pointing inwards) made to contour the floor of teh passenger's footwell, quite a shallow box but very wide. Might be worth a look, might help you spawn your own variation
Cheers Damo

I have used sub tubes or bazoka tubes with a lot of success. Cause a ute cab is small, you dont need so much noise, so an 8" in a tube does the trick fine. All you have to do is trick it behind he passenger seat and there you go. Sure a bigger sub, will give you more bass, but I find too much makes me sick! an 8" in a small cab like a 1200 ute is heaps. I havent seen a sub tube for sale for a while, so they might be hard to get, but if ou can find a 2nd hand one, ditch the old speaker, and put in a newie, then voila new sub tube.

i thought bout this and there is a few ways to do it if u dont mind cutting holes in ur ute. My mate installs for a living, 1 way is to mount the sub in the tray box the rear and run ports into the cab, another is to cut a hole in your cab say for a 12inch sub and box in the rear in the tray. I could not bring myself to cut up my ute but if you can there some ideas. cheers

Tommy,
You could make a mount for a sub to go on top of the transtunnel just in front of the heater unit. Cause the 8" subs are quite small (not very deep) it wouldn't take up too much room, only problem would be that someone could rip it out quite easily....
Amps go great under the seat though, mine has been there for a log while and never had a problem.
have fun!

i've said it before but no-one has commented on the idea, i figure if i had a ute i'd be putting a box under the glovebox, like some 1200s have a parcel shelf mounted there, the parcel shelf doesnt get int he way and i figure the space is plenty big enough for a good sub (10 or maybe 12") pointing downwards you can see the shelf in this pic, it's a plenty big enough space i reckon, just mounting a sub box there would be a little tricky
