i was wondering if a Blue Bird s2 diff center would fit in a 79 1200 ute ? the diff is a 23 spline 8 bolt rig

My diff is an 8 bolt rig unsure if its a h145 or h165 ? its a b120 79 1200 ute aussie made i think ?

Bluebirds did not come with the tiny H145 unit. Neither did utes.

So id have a h165 diff then ? i havent pulled it off yet or measured it so im unsure ! if so would the blue bird diff fit the h165 ?

All Datsun 1200 utes came from the factory with H165 rear axle assembly.
AUS built bluebirds I'm not sure ... H165 i think I recall hearing

The series II Bluebird centre will fit into 1200 ute diff housing no problems. Only difference will be the ratio as the utes came with a 4.11 centre & the bluebirds had either 3.7 or 3.9. I fitted one up behind a 5 speed in my old ute and it was much easier to drive at highway speeds. If u want to put rear disks on to, look for some off the Bluebird TRX.
