Thanks a14force, I am certain similar transactions will occur for you, once your beast is on the road.

I have just had a read of the rta website (nsw registration authority) and have discovered that the dirty bloody copper really didn't know his stuff. There are a whole heap of rules, regulations, tables and theorems that clearly states what engines and gearbox's we can use to modify our beloved datsuns. Firstly a supercharger does not breach any of the rules as far as 'owner modifications' power outputs go and secondly (and this is the big one) right down the bottom of the document it clearly states:

"The above tables DO NOT apply to 4wds, light trucks or commercial vehicles"

My little ute is registered as a light truck!!
