has anyone installed a break booster on a 1972 datsun 1200 gx?can the 1400 bakkies booster work?

Yes, many have fitted boosters to Datsun 1200. See Brake Booster Swaps.
The late-model booster has a 4-hole mount, while the 1200 has a two hole mount.
